Clearsil Acne Product Review

By

You have probably heard of the acne product line from Clearasil. They are one of the most recognized skin care product lines, especially among teens, because of their massive advertising campaigns. This daily-use skin care and acne removal line of products is meant for daily use, and they claim that if you use it daily you can not only see your blemishes go away within 3 days, but you can keep acne breakouts from happening. Those are some hefty claims and we will examine whether or not they are true and if Clearsil products actually work to help you to get rid of acne.

Too Abrasive?

One thing about acne products is that while you definitely want them to clear up your acne, you don't want it to hurt your face or be too abrasive to where it is really hurting your skin in order to get rid of the acne.  For my Clearasil review, I tried a few of their products.  Most of them were pretty smooth and felt nice on my face while using them as a scrub.

Some of the products from Clearasil contain little microdermabrasion beads which are to meant to gently agitate your skin in order to clear away any dirt or bacteria which can lead to acne.  These beads however, do not hurt, and only provide a gentle scrub, which allow them to still be effective at cleaning your skin, while not hurting your skin.

If you have sever acne though, the microdermabrasion products may not be the best for you.  Any type of irritation on top of sever acne can lead to permanent scarring and therefore only use the smooth face scrubs from Clearasil in order to start getting rid of the acne.

What is in most Clearasil products?

The ingredients that are in any acne product will help to determine their effectiveness as an acne product or skin care product.  Here are the ingredients in most of the Clearasil products.

Active Ingredients

  • Sulfur (8%)
  • Resorcinol (2%)

Inactive Ingredients

  • Fragrences
  • Iron oxide
  • Methylparaben
  • Simethicone
  • Titanium dioxide
  • Water SD
  • Talc
  • Propylparaben
  • Isopropyl Myristate
  • SE of Glyceryl stearate

Side Effects?

If you have seen commercials for most drugs, sometimes the side effects of those drugs are worse than what they are trying to cure! If you are going to be using an acne product like Clearsil, then you may be wondering what the side effects are.

There really are no side effects of using Clearasil products because they have been thoroughly tested. The only side effects that you might notice are peeling of your skin or dryness. The only thing you need to do is to reduce how often that you use the products and then peelin and dryness that you are noticing will simply go away.
