Get Rid of Acne Scars Through Various Means

By

Acne scars are pretty much like other scars that you can get on your body, except the obvious difference, that they occur because of popper pimples.  Your body is quick to repair itself, so whenever it has an injury, it send antibodies that it produces to the area to protect itself.  White blood cells and other antibodies go in to heal the body which often can lead to a scar.

There are various ways that you can get rid of acne scars.  There are different treatments depending on the kind of scars that you have from your acne, so I will help you to identify what kind of scar you have and what might be the best treatment for those scars.

Two types of scars

There are two different types of acne scars and they each are formed a different way.  One of them is formed because a loss of tissue occurs and the other is because more tissue is formed on the skin.  Knowing how to identify which one you have is important, and so I will go into the individual ones.

Depressed Scars

There are various forms of depressed scars.  Some of these include Ice-pick scars, macular scars, soft scars, and even depressed fibrotic scars.  As the acne cysts fill up with oil, bacteria, or pus, they will expand and then rupture.  The skin that was there as it is getting repairs will collapse because the skin gets loose and ruptures.  It will leave a round acne scar, which are the most common type of acne scars found on the face.

Keloid Scars

when your skin starts to lose collagen, extra collagen is formed after fibroblast is triggered, in order to counter the deficiency that happens.  The additional scarring over from the tissue causes it to feel almost like a bump.  Pimples that occur on the male torso is the most popular for the scarring to turn into Keloids.  Hypertrophic scarring is another form of keloid scars.

Treatments for Acne Scars

Dermatologists have many options available to them to help you to get rid of acne scars.  If you go and visit them, you will be able to learn what options will be best for you and your specific skin type and the specific acne scars that you have.  There are a few different things you will want to discuss withthe doctor so that you can get the best treatment for what you want.

Some things to consider when thinking about acne scar treatment:

  • The cost of the treatments,
  • Will you have to miss any time from work for the treatment or recovery?
  • How do you feel about the scars?
  • Where are the scars located?
  • How severe are the scars?

After considering these things and talking them over with the dermatologist, you'll be in the best spot to determine exactly what is the best route to go for your acne scar treatments.
