They also fill with bacteria which causes them to not only expand, but then to rupture, causing them to scar. They scar because the cyst, once ruptured, is now loose and then when it collapses, it leaves the ice pick, or round scar.
Keloids are Another Type
This scar is formed in almost a reverse manner of other scars. Keloids happen when your skin runs out of collagen, and so then your body products too much collagen when then leads to the scar happening. These scars are most common among males, and it usually appears in the torso area.

There are a myriad of options available if you are looking to get rid of your acne scars. Speaking with a dermatologist is one of the first things you should be, because they'll be able to recommend some different treatments depending on your type of acne scars. And, when they give you their opinion as far as the best route to take, you may want to go and get a second opinion to see if that will indeed be the best method for getting rid of your acne scars.
