So you've resolved yourself to getting a home gym.  maybe you were fed up with paying a monthly membership to a gym, and even then you probably weren't going that often because you actually had to get up and drive there and then drive home when you were finished.  But, then you started looking around to get some home gym equipment to buy, but then you realized that it can be quite expensive, especially if you are buying multiple items.  Well, I am here to help you to know where to look in order to find great deals on fitness equipment to use in your home gym.

Yard sales are a great place to find discount home gym equipment.

Yard Sales

Many people simply give up on their gym equipment because they realized they bought it and wanted it at one point in time but then they just ended up never using it so now they are wanting to sell it.  They usually sell them for cheaper than new ones simply because they are used.  But, with big items like that, people definitely want to get rid of them at the garage sales, so they'll be more willing to allow you to haggle them for a better price.  Don't try to go too low on the price, but you can definitely find some good discounts at garage sales.  But, make sure you go early, and also make sure you have a truck or something that will allow you to haul it away.

Craigslist

Craigslist is a great place to find deals on fitness equipment online.  They have a specific section for sporting foods and fitness equipment.  It is basically like an online garage sale, and just like the classified ads in your newspaper.  You'll be able to find good deals on there if you browse around.  Make sure that you are willing to go pick it up, because often times people will sell to someone who is ready to buy or interested in taking it.  So, just like with the yard sales, make sure that you have a truck or some way of hauling the home gym equipment that you do end up buying.

eBay

eBay can be another great place to find some home gym equipment at a great price!  The one thing you want to look out for on eBay is the shipping costs.  Since the items are usually pretty heavy (think free weights, treadmill, etc) then the shipping costs may not make it much of a discount once they are factored in.  Also, make sure that you look at the sellers feedback and rating ,to see if they can be trusted.  You don't want to send a lot of money online and then end up being scammed, so do your due diligence as far as using the tools eBay provides in order to see if someone is trustworthy or not.

Conclusion

If you are wanting to find some awesome deals on fitness equipment to put into your home gym, then there are great places in person and online that you can look in order to find deals.  If you don't mind waiting, march and April are usually a great time to find deals because people who bought gym equipment in January for their New Year's Resolutions decided they didnt really want to resolve to lose weight so now they are wanting to sell their equipment!

Good luck in finding deals!
